Wow. It's been awhile since I've posted.

I guess xanga is losing its priority with me. Xanga and my diary. Which is crazy. Because I'm extremely dogmatic about writing in my diary every single night; I haven't missed a day since I began the diary, 5 years ago...I know for sure it's going to be put aside once I get married; it just isn't as important as, say, snuggling. lol.

So thanks to all of you who comment every now and then. I'm not longing for the bygone days of 20 comments...my true friends are the ones who will still remember me, even if my xanga slips into notoriety. (It's a great word. Go look it up.)

Spent 8 days at the Boyenger's! I am marrying into a family of crazy awesome wonderful people. And I am marrying a crazy awesome wonderful amazing downright handsome guy. But I don't have to tell you all that. Those of you who know him, or have met him, know exactly what I'm talking about.

My wedding dress is in; I still owe about $93 on it. The lady's eyes popped when I paid for the dress with $650 in cash. Haha! It's great. The only thing giving me a headache, right NOW (because I KNOW there will be plenty more to give me headaches) is trying to work with all the bridesmaids and their dresses. Look, I've FOUND the dress, now it's up to THEM to figure out how to pay for it!!! lol! I am tired of looking for "sales", and then not finding anything. I'm not going to compromise on my color or style just because it's "cheaper." That's probably a mean attitude to have, but I'm a mean person.

So anyways. Levi and I are engaged, just not "officially", as in, I haven't got the ring yet, and he hasn't got down on one knee. lol. Everyone has this obsession with it being "official", like, for some reason, you're not gonna get married until you've got that ring on your finger, which is bull. lol. But anyways! Sorry for the bitterness...I get tired of people going "Oh, you're getting married, but you don't even have an engagement ring." I wanna growl at them. lol! "It's being made. By a good friend. And it will look way better than your stinkin' ring. *growl*" haha! Maybe by the next time I get around to boring you all with another post, I will be "officially" engaged and well on my way to becoming Katie Danielle Boyenger.

The last few weeks have been so crazy. A whirlwind. Two weeks ago, my Grandad died. We were caught up in that whole thing, dealing with relatives and Grandad's posessions and stuff. A blessing has come out of that situation; Levi and I were told we could go through the house and pick whatever we wanted...no one else cared for anything but a few chairs. It was really nice.

I've been working at Varney's Bookstore up in textbooks, for about 3 weeks now. It's great. But I get tired cuz I'm on my feet all day.

Last week, I went in and ordered my wedding gown. It came in this week. It was an expensive dress, but I was able to pay for it because I found this random savings account that my great grandmother had started for me, with just the right amount in it for my gown. So I didn't really lose any money. God is so good.

Spent last weekend at the Boyenger's. After Christmas, I'll be there for a week, and we're going to do awesome stuff like watch movies and go ice skating.

This week has been horrible. Truly horrible. I don't know if any of you have met Ashley VanBebber. She commented on my xanga sometimes. She is a very good friend of mine. We've had so much fun together, and we've been through all kinds of stuff. She is an amazing friend. Anyways, Ashley was killed Tuesday night when her truck went off the road and rolled. She wasn't wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the truck. Mom and dad told us the news as soon as we got up Wednesday morning, and I am still in shock. It hasn't quite registered yet, that I will never be able to hug her again, or tell her I love her, or see her smiling at me as I play the piano at church....these past few days, memories from all we've done and inside jokes we've had have been rushing through my mind. It's almost more than I can take. I know that God doesn't cause bad things to happen to his children. He always has a plan. And I guess he just wanted to take Ashley home. She truly demonstrated His love the 19 years she was on earth. Visitation is this evening. Funeral tomorrow. Pray, my friends. This is so hard for our family, and for our church family, and for the VanBebber family.

I hope you all have a Merry Christmas. My Christmas will be a lot less merry than usual. It doesn't even feel like Christmas. But I will do my best to enjoy myself, because I know if Ashley were here, she'd say "Psh, girl, you enjoy yourself! Don't worry about me! Heck, I'VE got the better end of the deal!"

Does everybody hate me??!?!

XANGA IS SO DEAD.

How else am I to explain only getting TWO comments in one week?

I used to get upwards of 20 if I left my post alone for like, five days.

Psh.

WARNING: Ranting Session

Okay.
I just got my Rush Limbaugh newsletter. I feel I must share an excerpt from one of the articles, "Enough is Enough!" Rush's sentiments echo mine precisely. Couldn't have said it any better myself.

"I have had it. I am sick and tired of my country being portrayed as the damned enemy. When are we going to say enough is enough? We're not the ones beheading people. We are not the savages. We're not the ones slitting throats. We are not disemboweling shopkeepers or burying women alive. We are not randomly targeting innocents or glorying in gruesome murder of anyone who disagrees with us. We are not threatening the Pope.
"Yet we, with our bending-over-backwards, white-glove treatment of detainees at Gitmo, are the ones accused of torture! In capturing terrorists who plot mass murder against us, we have rulebooks up the wazoo on how we can interrogate them. They get lawyers and Geneva protections allowing them to retain in their hearts and minds schemes of unimaginable death and destruction.
"Liberals worry, 'What do we need to do to stop making them so mad?' instead of worrying about the safety of the United States or its people. Instead of focusing on how to protect the country, they're focusing on how to protect the enemy, how to not offend the enemy, how to make sure the enemy is not upset while being interrogated or held in prison.
"I'm tired of Americans joining this parade. My question is: When will we, the civilized, become offended?"

Yes, indeed. Well, I for one am offended. Deeply. I just wish there was something I could do. I did my best. I voted for the right people. But for some reason, the right people didn't get into office. So I guess all I can really do is pray. And hope that America isn't completely annihilated thanks to the stupid, communist liberals.
